What If…

what if. erica in photo smiling with hands in the air.

Last week, while on the phone with a girlfriend I mentioned that I noticed that she’s really been LIVING lately.

Me: “ GIRL,  you’ve been living your best life lately.”

She paused. There was a quick sigh of breath, and she said yes. Yes, I have.

For the remainder of the week, I chewed and pondered her response & her acknowledgment.

And then I thought– what if, Erica?

For the most part, I live with the tension of waiting for the OTHER shoe to drop. I don’t suggest it.

 AT ALL.

Living this way will STEAL FROM YOU

If I’m honest-(you know I will be) I’ve allowed it to rob me of love, joy, fulfillment, and possibly abundance.

What if…

There was something about that PAUSE and SIGH. It was like she was instantly hit with the fullness of what her life has been lately and I felt it transfer to me.

 JOY. PRESENCE. EXPERIENCE. LOVE.

Since then, I’ve decided.

What if, Erica?

<WHAT IF> it turns out better than you could ever imagine?  In spite of it all.

BETTER THAN YOU HAVE EVER IMAGINED.

It can’t possibly be worse than waiting for the other shoe to drop. God doesn’t live there. He lives in the What if realm.

So I pose this question to you:

WHAT

IF

YOU

actually lose weight.

love yourself fully.

put the work in for an incredible marriage or relationship.

go on that trip (alone) or with friends.

take the leap of faith. *risk*

show up for yourself as you do for so many others.

start therapy.

tell yourself the truth

let go of your fears

leave the relationship that isn’t working for you.

start the new career path.

move.

pivot.

cut off that toxic friend.

fail.

WHAT IF, you choose to live?

In fact, I think I will.

I want to dedicate this post to my TRIBE of sisters. You know who you are. We’ve been through hell and back. Possibly twice? We’ve laughed ourselves into Euphoria and we’ve loved each other really hard and well. My life would be empty without you.

Stay really really close,
Erica Brown
